I had forgotten that it was a factory reconditioned unit until I decided to read the other reviews. I see no signs that this saw is not a new unit. First thing out of the box I used the saw to cut a solid piece of 1.5 inch cold roll. I figured if it crapped out I'd just put it back in the box and send it back. As you can see from my 5 star rating I am impressed with this saw. I even cleaned it up and put it back in its hard-shell box instead of throwing it in the JoBox like I do with my other power tools. I've had good luck with all my Dewalt Recon tools. No problems whatsoever. Now Coleman/Powermate...Grrrrrrr!!! I like the way you can orient the blade either vertical or horizontal. But it doesn't have the power (or orbital action) of my 30 year old Porter Cable.
