However if you are a pro, I recommend you go with the higher rated 4240.I'll explain....The unit is built like a rock. Very sturdy steel cradle, easy to move around and the little Honda engine starts on the first pull and runs great. I got this unit at H...Depot for $799. Cheaper than anywhere online. At that price it is a great buy. However I have to question the 3800 PSI rating. It just does not feel that powerful.It replaced a old washer with 8 HP B & S engine and a 2500 PSI GIANT pump. I had replaced the pump once years ago and now the engine gas tank was leaking fuel and the clutch dog on the flywheel starter did not engage properly. I spent more time getting it started that pressure washing. I was looking at over $200 in repairs on an old machine. The DeWalt 3835 has more power than that unit but not exactly what I expected. In addition this unit has a General Pump TC1310G8A pump. I don't see that pump listed in General Pumps current Catalog, that tells me it might be a throw away pump designed to run a while then fail to get you to buy a new pump. If you read the 3 year warranty fine print, wear parts such as pump valves and seals are not covered at all.So much for the 3 year guarantee.I am not a pro, so this unit might last me a while, but pro's should go with a more powerful unit especially if you are going to use accessories such as extension wands and long hoses.I believe my unit is working as designed because when I opened the sealed box and uncoiled the pressure hose it had some water in it, indicating it was tested at the factory.The lower than expected pressure and the unknown pump model is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5.Update 7/8/2011I purchased a pressure gauge to check the rated pressure of this unit. The gauge indicated the unit was only generating 3000-3400 PSI at the pump. Not good for a unit rated at 3800 PSI. I returned the unit for a refund and purchased a Dewalt DS 3532 rated at 3500 PSI for $208.00 less money. The gauge indicated this unit was delivering a steady 3500 PSI as rated. This latest unit also has a General TX1508 Pump which parts are available for. I am very happy with this purchase and the 25% savings. I recommend the Dewalt 3532 and have lowered my rating on the Dewalt 3835 to 3 Stars.See all 1 customer reviews...
