This Heavy duty aluminum LED flashlight from Dewalt puts out 141 lumens. A lumen is a unit of standard measurement used to describe the total light output of the flashlight. For example, a dinner candle provides about 12 lumens. In comparison, this Dewalt 3C flashlight provides 141 lumens.  All Dewalt flashlights are tested by an independent laboratory for the most precise measurement available. This flashlight has both a flood and spot beam combined for more versatility. The flood beam pattern simulates normal daylight conditions to take advantage of peripheral vision. The spot beam pattern creates a narrow, powerful beam of light for pinpointing distant areas. This flashlight uses an LED (Light Emitting Diode) system which is a solid-state semiconductor that converts electrical energy directly into and intense, high quality light. Able to run for very long periods of time on very little power providing extra cost savings. LEDs have greater resistance to shock or vibration damage and do not have a filament that will burn out. It uses a Premium Xlamp LED bulb which provides consistently bright beam and extends battery life. The Anodized aluminum grip pattern resists corrosion, crushing, and provides a no slip grip. Most helpful customer reviews4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.I haven't had it long, but I can vouch for its lighting qualitiesBy Bargain FinderThis unit, in its description says that it has a good center spot, plus (simultaneously) good wide area coverage, rather than having to focus the head to get this, as in other units. And, I can 'attest' to this characteristic, as the spot is very bright (as well as having a 'decent' range of 'throw'), and the 'spill' (wide coverage around the center spot) is of very good quality...that is, it's bright as well as reasonably large in diameter. (I have another 3 C-Cell flashlight that has a bright center spot, but the 'spill' area around the center spot is dark). I haven't tested this unit's claim of being able to withstand being 'dropped', and still functioning, and I don't intend to test that purposefully. So, I can't vouch for that claim. But as far as brightness is concerned, I compared this unit's light against 'known' flashlights of a given amount of lumens (in the 140-180 lumen-range category), and this unit is definitely at the top end of that range of illumination.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.Very High Quality!By John C.
