We weren't expecting a lot of power when we picked up this drill for the first time: It's terrifically light and compact. Boy, were we wrong—-this drill's got all the power and torque of the heavyweights. With a speed range of 440 to 1,400 rpm and 17 clutch settings, it also delivers 400 in./lbs. of torque. It handles a hole saw and Forstners beautifully with power to spare, and the balance in hand is perfect. But what sets this drill apart is its size and weight and how that translates to easier work for you. We've used some big-boy drills and imagined what a carpenter would feel like after eight hours of hoisting them; we have to say that this drill is the one we'd want on the job, whether it's electrical work, cabinetry, heating and cooling or woodworking, slipping easily into the tightest workspaces and really cutting down on fatigue. Another dimension is how easily it handles for women with smaller hands, because in addition to its size and weight, the drill's r! ubber grip is compact and comfortable. Auto tune-ups should keep this machine working for you for a long, long time. -- Kris Jensen-Van HesteFactory-Reconditioned DEWALT DC728KAR Heavy Duty 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless 1/2-inch Drill/Driver Kit

ChamberlainI was able to snag this drill for about a third of what amazon normally sells it for. It came complete with two batteries and a recharger. It has a lot of power and it is definitely a solid drill. I'll have no qualms about buying another Dewalt reconditioned tool if the opportunity should arise.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. An almost perfect drillBy hjfI don't know where the Amazon review is coming from, but I would never call this drill 'light'. It is heavy even without the battery pack. It has replaced my corded 3/8" Skill as my main drill, but it very difficult to use overhead unless you are also a body builder. Batteries charge quickly and retain a charge for a very long time, both in the case and in use. Only criticism besides weight is that the switch to move between the three speed ranges will sometimes bind.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.NICE DRILLBy J. NolanMy first reconditioned Dewalt drill. Works great, long battery time, fairly quick charge. Came clean and almost new looking. I would and have bought something else reconditioned from Dewalt. Nuff said.See all 3 customer reviews...
